I have the opportunity to work with a teacher and make materials that she can use in her classroom. Here are some examples!
Google Form
|
Google makes it super easy to make quizzes and surveys with Google Forms. You are able to choose between different question types (this example is almost all short answer style) and write your own question and answers. You can change the theme and make it more fun or relevant to the content. To take the survey, they just need the link to it. Only you can see responses, unless you add someone else as an editor. All of the responses will be collected for you on the "responses" tab. They allow you to mark things as required, so it forces students to answer before they can turn in the form. Overall, Google Forms is an amazing tool for educators and I definitely will be using it in my future classroom.
Some examples of how to use it:
Educators can also exemplify the ISTE Standards for Teachers through Google Forms. 2.5 Designer relates because the teacher must intentionally design the questions for their specific students and the information they want to collect. 2.7 Analyst is also a good example. The form provides a different way for students to reflect on what they know. It also helps teachers reflect on their students' learning. |
Kahoot
|
Kahoot! is a tool that can help you turn your content into a game. It lets you choose different formats of questions that fit your info better. It has you select the answer that is right so it can assess the students. The questions flash on the screen with the choices below. Students' screens will have the colors of the choices on their screen, and they will choose the color that correlates with the answer they pick.
Kahoot! ties into the Danielson Framework under resources. Teachers should always be finding new technology to try in the classrooms so they can better teach and engage with their students. I could definitely see myself using this in the classroom. You can adjust it to different age levels. This kahoot! was made for kindergarten students who do not use technology on their own. The teacher is able to show the screen and let students |
Nearpod
|
Nearpod gives teachers an easy way to make an interactive presentation for their students. It has many features including whiteboards, quizzes, games, videos, etc. The teacher controls the presentation on their device and then it shows it on the student devices. This tool can be related to 2c and 1d of the Danielson framework. Teachers using resources effectively makes a big difference to how well students learn. Engagement is important especially for young kids who have short attention spans. The nearpod lesson also creates an environment of collaboration that is beneficial to students. The iste standards for educators also can be exhibited through an interactive presentation. 2.5 and 2.6 are the best examples because the teacher is designing an activity specifically for their students and getting them familiar with many different ways to interact with technology. |
Wizer
|
Wizer is a website that allows educators to find and create interactive worksheets to use in their classroom. Teachers can either use or add onto already existing worksheets or create one from scratch.
Using the interactive worksheets is a great way to carry out the danielson framework. Component 1d and 1f both apply to Wizer. The iste standards can also tie into Wizer. Teachers are designing and collaborating using online resources, which would be 2.5 and 2.4. I can definitely see myself using this as a tool in my future classroom. It makes worksheets way more engaging and captivating. |
Jamboard
Jamboard is a tool through google that you can make presentations. It allows you to put in pictures, shapes, text, etc. Students could work at their own pace or follow along in class. Teachers can put the presentation on the board for students to look at if they choose to do it together in class.
